I removed the JARD match trigger from "My Big Fat Greek Rifle" (OK, its not Greek but naming my rifles makes it easier to discuss them with friends and this one is a White Oak 26"HB with a PRS, SA 6X20X56 Scope and is 15 pounds) and replaced it with a Geissele 2 stage match trigger.

So, I have this JARD sitting here and noticed I can change the spring and make the pull break at up to 5 pounds with a different spring.

All of my ARs except my throw away M4 Stag-15 have Geissele triggers and rather than take a beating on the JARD I thought I would ask if anyone has tried upping the spring tension and using one of these as a single stage combat trigger.
I could drop this in the Stag but is that too sensitive for a blaster self defense anti-homeinvasion gun?

Doesn't hurt to ask and I am never afraid to admit ignorance so any one try this???

as long as it's reliable, it's fine.

If it's the same as my Jard, I say "no." Too many little screws and do-dads. I keep my Jard in my toy AR.

This ^^^

Fighting guns are better served by a reliable, non-adjustable FCG breaking at around 6 pounds.
( I think spec is 5.5 - 9.5)

In my opinion, the Geissele SSA is about the best combat style trigger that is available for an AR.

I have one in a PWS and I have the enhanced one in the other PWS and I agree they are awesome.
But, this is my go to throw away gun.
I have many LE friends and here is how it goes:
If I use an AR to defend myself and there are any survivors and those are prosecuted I may not see the gun for decades.
As a deputy friends said to me" Do you really want to give up a PWS?

So, I replied, "sell me back that Stag-15"

I keep it cleaned and ret-ta-go as my go to AR for home defense (one of 6 guns that are HD)

But,  I do a lot of various combat training with ARs and quick shooting one can not tell much difference in a crappy stock AR trigger and the best Geissele (except when you pause to make a critical spot on shot then it is a world of difference)
I have the JARD sitting here and wanted some thoughts on upping the spring.

It seems the consensus is it is not sturdy enough to use as a combat trigger.
I do not intend of spending more money for another Geissele though.

Good comments everyone, thanks
