First off thank you everyone for all the info here!
I got my spikes lower and parts kit and my BCM Upper 14,5 inch will be here Thursday. I have everything else and just need my BCG now.
I was going to order the BCM BCG but they only had one and it said AUTO, not semi, and as I live in CA I can only have semi.
Does it matter? Is there any difference in the auto and semi BCG cause they have other brands listed as semi.
Since most places are out of stock I wanted to order fast. Jason from bcm said it should work, and I replied with SHOULD? And asked for more info but no response.

An Auto BCG is considered by some more diserable and some say more reliable. If it is in an other wise semi-auto gun it will never shoot in auto, the auto sear is "tripped" by the full metal lower half of the auto carrier. If there is no auto sear installed then there is no chance of it firing full auto. If you can find a good MPI and HPT bolt carrier assembly, I would not worry if it was auto or semi. I don't know California's laws so I can not speak about the legalities of one in your state.

ETA- Yes a full auto carrier will work great in a semi auto AR. I believe the "semi" carrier was created during the Clinton years as they were so concerned about auto guns that, and i think most of this was aimed at Colt, they started taking steps to prove and then more redundant steps to prove that the gun could never shoot auto. As far as I know that is really the only reason there are "semi" carriers to begin with

You're fine for having a standard carrier in California.  It doesn't make your gun automatic.  It will work fine, get it.
