Any particular model that has the small take down pin and the small trigger pins? I want to mate it to an upper that has a .250" take down pin? (I assume thats the small one?) |
| Sear block has no pro that I know of...you can only use a semi carrier and if you get a 9mm upper you need to mill out the bolt area for space for the block...If you are not in a ban state then hopefully any new colt will work..the 6940 and 6920 is nice..I have NO idea about their pin set up though |

SP1 / 2 / Sporter (Early):
These will be "slab side" lowers on A1 forgings, no magazine fence, no receiver boss or pivot pin reinforcements. They will all be "large pin" pivot pin types, also, the upper receivers will not have a sear relief cutout. Late "slab sides" also have sear blocks. Fire control pins will be "milspec" .154 diameter pins. Sporter (mid production): These will be "full fence" A2 style lower forgings (see the A2 lower thread in the A2 forum for more details). They will have the sear block, and large sear block "pins" where the sear pin would go. The pivot pin spring channel will not be drilled (you can tell from whether or not there's a drain hole in the channel. Fire control pins will still be "milspec" diameter. (I believe? Someone might need to double check this) Sporter (late) / Match Target (early): Also "full fence" A2 style lower forgings with "milspec" diameter pivot pins. Pivot pin spring channel will be drilled out, even though the lower uses a screw pivot pin. Sear block is still present, but externally, only a "large pin" will be seen on the right side where the sear pin would be. Fire control pins will be "large pin," .170 diameter. Match Target (late) - 2009: Milspec front pivot pins with captured pins, no sear block, but "sear web," an area of unmachined metal where the auto sear would go. Fire control pins are "large pin." 2009 - Present: Milspec front pivot pins, sear web. Fire control parts are "milspec" pins. The LE series is a little harder to determine, since the LE6520 has been around since the "slab side" lower days, and the LE(now AR)6721 has been around since at least the large FCG pins (not sure if any were made with large pin uppers). ~Augee |
