Ok fella's....

Its almost winter, and I have the bug BAD.  This winter I want to build a AR15 from the ground up and im looking at what you would use for parts to build the gun below with THESE RULES in mind.

#1 Gun total needs to be $1400 or under, the more under $1400 the better!!!
#2 Gun will be a .223 precision shooter+
#3 Looking for extreme accuracy up to 300 yards
#4 As most of you know im very new to guns and this will be my second AR and my FIRST build of any kind.
#5 Please give an explanation for the parts you choose...

Define extreme accuracy

1/3MOA at 300 yards defines extreme for me. 1-inch groups at 300 yards you'll need good glass. There goes all your money. You're better off with a bolt gun and the rest on optics.

Let me state this.....Lets take GLASS out of this build.  I want to build the best precision AR i can for under 1400.  Ill worry about the glass after the build is just right.

Thanks

Douglass bbl from Compass Lake Engineering: $325 (One of the best bbls for the money you can get––also bbl used in the Mk 12 by Crane)
Stripped upper from BCM: $90 (cheap and does the job as well as any other)
Weaver scope: ~$200-$300 (You get what you pay for in optics, but your budget doesn't allow for any better)
VTAC handguard- $180 (Free float, lightweight, no frills)
Gas Tube- $10
Badger Ordnance Gas Block- $65
BCG- $100-$150 (Pick any from a reputable dealer)
Spike's Stripped lower- $90 (cheap and gets the job done as well as any other)
LPK- $60 (pick one from a reputable dealer. Don't worry about the trigger; the fundamentals of marksmanship apply to any trigger, unless it's super janky )
A2 buttstock- $55 (all you need for your purposes)

Prices are approximate. My total for that is $1250.

You could get a LaRue Stealth for $1200 and build a cheaper lower. I really like my Stealth uppers, they are very accurate.

That's a really nice set up for $1270. I've never used krieger barrels but I've always heard great things.
