Ok, Cleaning my A2 today and the buffer spring and retainer flew out
What keeps it in when the bolt moves to the rear? This is a DPMS lower. I have never had one fly out.

any help would be appreciated.

The buffer tube.  Several things could be wrong.  Buffer tube could be loose.  Buffer retainer hole could have been machined too far forward.  Or it could've been machined too far back, allowing the buffer to smash into it every shot, egging the hole out until the retainer could pop out.  Or, something else could be out of spec that's allowing your BCG to ride too far forward, causing the same thing.

ETA:  Or your buffer tube could've broken.

Pics of the lower near that area and pics of the buffer face would help.

Well Josh figured out the problem.

The stock tube was not holding the pin in place. There was a tube extension plate in place that was not needed. after it was removed all fitted like it was suppose to.

Thank you Josh.

I am refering to the plate that fits between the lower frame and the colapable stock. You know the one that holds your sling. except that who ever built this one , used the spacer with the A2 stock, thus the stock tube could not fit properly against the lower frame.
