| I just replaced the SOPMOD from my SPRish build with an A2. I want to put the SOPMOD on one of my work guns, a Colt. Will I need to switch out the tube or can I just throw the SOPMOD on there?? I want it to fit the Colt the same way it fit on the LMT, nice and snug. I assume that all mill-spec tubes are the same, the problem is that the only other lowers I have on hand right now are also LMT, except for a Spikes that has a commercial tube on it so I can't do a test fit. Just trying to plan ahead so that I know what I need and don't need to take with me to work. Thanks fellas. |
| Not all parts are the same. There is a tolerance range. The Colt uses a real mil-spec RE and the SOPMOD will fit it. But you could take 100 different rifles and 100 different SOPMODs and have varying degree of fit. The only way to know for certain how tight or how loose the stock will fit is to put it on. |

I know it will fit, I quess my question is will it rattle around like a standard stock. I can and will take everything with me, I'm just trying to figure out ahead of time if I should set enough time aside to swap out the tubes. There is no way to know unless you physically try it. The same goes for LMT extensions. No one can give you a certain answer. The SOPMOD is a tighter fitting stock than the M4 stock in general. One thing is for sure, there are plenty of SOPMOD stocks on Colt guns in the US Military. |

But if its a new sopmod I am willing to bet its going to be tight, every new sopmod I have used has been tight to the tube. |
