I purchased a Stag Arms model 2, and of course did some furniture upgrades.

I rarely see any discussion on Stag...is there some inherent problem with them, or are they just sort of the lower end of the spectrum?

Paid $800 shipped, and I love the rifle. Any thoughts or am I just feeling "buyers remorse" for no good reason?

I bought a Model 1 a couple weeks ago and love it, no remorse here.

Most the Stag talk is here in the Industry/Stag Arms section:

Stag makes a fine AR, accurate, reliable, and of excellent quality, and to Mil Spec. Thier complete rifles come with an lifetime warranty and thier customer service, should you ever need it, is top notch. That said, they do not charge an exhoribant amount for thier great product(s), because of that many of the Kool Aid drinkers don't think they are spending enough to get a great product.
So, lets all keep them (Stag/CMT) and thier high quality a secret so they don't start overcharging like some other "flavor of the month companies" do. Stag is by far the best "bang for the buck" out there and has been so for a couple of years now. A great product all around...Congratualtions on your great gun, but you knew you had a good one already by your typcal Stag owner expierence....<><....:)

Stag is good beans. They do offer rifles WITH M4 FEEDRAMPS. I have said it and been confronted too many times. Yes they do. Although the bbl material is (from my memory) not up to "spec".

A good thread for info:

They get great reviews and their parent company makes the parts for most of the consumer AR-15 products in the USA. I own a Model 2T and love it.

Good product, wish they would drop the deer roll stamp.

Stag is fine.  Lot of competition out there and most is good quality.  Ice cream comes in different flavors for a reason.  Nothing wrong with Continental Machine/Stag.  Enjoy your new rifle.

I bought a complete Stag Arms 2H upper a few years back. Dropped shipped from Stag.  The FSB was not F marked.  The Brl is 1:9.  No M4 feed ramps. Blue extractor spring insert. Cant fault them for any of that as those are intentional not manufacturing defects.

What i can fault them for is the FSB was canted and the face of the receiver had a huge aluminum burr, which was sharp and they upper was anodized with the burr in place.  I sent it back to Stag via UPS and they exchanged the entire upper in about 2-weeks. The replacement did not have any manufacturing defects.  Its a perfectly servicable 1:9 16" carbine upper.

I've used CMT(Stag) stocks and LPK's with complete sucess.

The only complaint I have is the deer roll mark.  Other than that my Stag has been a reliable and accurate rifle.

I had a very nice shooting stag rifle that I had a troy free float rail on.  That thing could drive tacks.  I miss that rifle not that the rifles I have right now don't drive tacks.  I would own another stag rifle and I still use a couple of stag lowers.

I like stag. I built the ex wife an M4 clone on a complete stag upper, along with LPK and buttstock kit I bought from AIM years ago. It didnt come as a kit, but I think total was $600. Built it up on a superior arms lower and it ran fine.
