I'm looking at all of the options out there for my first AR, and I ran across rguns.net. Are their rifles any good? I know there are probably better ones out there, I just want to know if anyone has every had one of their uppers or what the opinion of them is.  Thanks

Never tried one personally and those I know who have,  said avoid.  This was when they first started putting them out and they may be better now.  Kinda doubt it.  Much better stuff out there for the money.  You get what you pay for most the time.  Will they shoot?  Sure!

That's what I thought, but you never know. There are so many options out there, it's freakin crazy.

RGUNS is generally not held in too high regard 'round these parts.  I've never ordered anything from them, so I can't say from personal experience, rather only what I've seen on here.  Basically, stay away from them, Blackthorne, Hesse, Vulcan and a few others and you're good to go.

Look at Spikes and BCM if you're looking for top quality and are on a budget.  Next, IMO, would be S&W.

Rguns was a vendor here, who was kicked off.  Their website does not reflect real time inventory.  Some of the peope involved in the company are somewhat questionable background wise (from what others have said).  You could get random guesses about lead time and generally very poor customer service.  At one point they had a notice on web site that if you called about the status of a order, you would be moved to the back of the waiting list.

That being said, my only order them them went very smooth.  DPMS LR-308s which have always been hard to find were impossible during the ban and they were going for $500 or so a good price of a new one.  DPMS in their section here said wait times would be 12-18 months.  I ordered one from Rguns (very cheap), they claimed 6weeks.  I was hoping I would lock in a price and maybe get one a year later.  About 5 weeks after my order was placed they called me and told me I could switch to a fluted version for $65 more and they could go ahead and ship it, and they did.  The selling price was between the distributor and dealer price in my local dealer's catalog.

I've never had an issue with them.  They can be abrupt on the phone.   Thier rifles as far as I know are all DPMS.  The Rguns lower I bought from them was/is fine.
While they are not my first choice vendor wise, I do not have an issue ordering from them when needed.  There are far worse vendors out there.

I bought my LR308 and a couple cases of ammo from them, price was low, shipping was fast, no issues and I'd buy from them again.

I ordered some mags from them back in the ban days, they had had a good deal.
I still get thier full color flier from time to time.
Seem ok to me.

Picked up an M4 upper (minus the BCG and CH) from R-Guns.  I might not have, had I come across this thread earlier.
However, received it in four business days.  Seems solid enough.  Threw a RRA BCG and CH in it, slapped it on an RRA lower and it fits nicely.

Now for the real test...getting it out to the range.

RGuns is a local shop by me. I wouldn't buy from them - they're racist assholes and are unpleasant to deal with. If their firearms are anything like they act, I'd steer clear.

Years ago RGuns was the only game in town for retail packaged Colt LPKs that weren't priced five miles north of stupid. Back then I bought an obscene number of them, once my local source dried up.

My only impression after talking to them on the phone once was that they could have benefited from a Dale Carnegie class or two. Extremely abrasive and confrontational when calling about an issue that was actually their screw up.

If I hadn't needed those parts so badly I would have told them to pound sand.

Rguns.  Probably not.  Might be alright for C&R bulk purchase.  Don't think I want any of their AR parts.  The lowers and stainless lpk's I have seen were a little out of spec.  Stuff functions and is dirt cheap.  There are better parts out there.  Does seem like a lot of the low tier vendors sell a lot of DPMS parts.  Wonder what that stuff really costs in bulk purchase.

Me nad a buddy were both good customers of theirs, and we got in on their screwy israelli ammo deal a few years back.  I would never order from them again––in fact, I have such a bad taste in my mouth from them, that I will think twice ordering from a vendor that carries their stock.

I bought an upper from them and they sent me the wrong one.  They had no problem swapping it with the correct one, but I had no communication and am not impressed with their bolts.  Also the flash hider was no even screwed on hand tight.  If I would have shot it there might have been a big issue if I didn't check it.  For the same price get a YHM or save a few bucks and get a BCM.
