I use to have Colt AR's from way back when there was only Colt . I sold them all to get through some tough times . Now I'm ready to get another AR and it seems there are 100 people making them . I was thinking about getting a KAC or Wilson Combat but now there are piston guns also . So now I am thinking about getting a LWRC SPR for my first AR . What do you all think ?

Thanks , Bill

I have 2 personally owned LWRCs and an very happy with both.

While many would advise against a piston for a 1st AR, I say if you're getting a top of the line AR, piston or otherwise, why not.

If you look at what LWRCs come with standard* they represent one of the best values on the market. CS is also great and company execs, engineers and production personnel regularly post and answer questions on their forum.

Would I trust my life to them?  In fact I do.

I vote LWRC.

* Forged barrel, advanced bolt w/FAILZERO, NiCorr surface (not just bore) treatment, Cerakote, Ni FCG treatment, Magpul MIAD, etc.  Mine also had a Geissele trigger and an AAC 51T FH.

I'd buy an LWRC. The M6A3 is a nice platform. I went down and toured their factory, nice bunch of guys, and good rifles.

My m6a3 is my best gun. Beautiful design and function.

Another top shelf choice would be Noveske.

I would never trust my life to a firearm I have not torture tested personally.  I have an LWRC M6A1 that I have done so with.  I'm over 3000 rounds in with a mixture of Government surplus and Wolf.  I have never cleaned my rifle, never performed any sort of maintenance, I have left it outside in the rain, in the back of a truck down a dusty road, dropped it in sand the consistency of talcum powder with the bolt open, slammed it against logs (accidentally mind you).  I have also never had one single failure to function in any way.  It has loaded smoothly every time.  It has put rounds on target without fail, and it has proven itself to be a superior rifle.

I trust my life to my M6A1.

Thanks for all the info . Its good to hear all this positive stuff about LWRC . There are so many different piston brands I didn't have a clue who was doing it right or if they all are . Has any one got any info on the SPR model ? I like the rail and the spiral flute looks good (dont know if I need it) but I wish it had the adjustable ports like the A3 but (don't know if I need those either) .

Thanks , Bill

No, I bet they don't, because the first 10 just left LWRCI.  New model for them.

12.5" M6A3 from LWRC and I love it. I would recommend LWRC to anyone.
