hello gentlemen.  been looking around for a long time and finally decided to join in on the fun.  decided to build rather than buy.  im 99% done and the only thing i have left to put on her is a laser sight.  any preferences as to green or red?  im on the fence about it, and dont know which way to go.  thanks

Nice stick...and if you put a laser on it from what i've seen the green ones are really easy to see vs. the red ones

Welcome.  I go with a green laser.  Try building an A-2 20" HBAR as a next project.  Iron sights for practice shooting and skill-building.

thanks guys.  the dream catcher is for the rifle.  i hung it over the rifle so it wont have nightmares about being put in the back of the safe and not getting used.  i have put about 1200 rounds down range so far with the irons and when i pick up my laser sight Thursday (once i decide which color laser to get) will be sighting in the glass and laser.  its been flawless in its functions thus far.  not even a hiccup.  so i cant wait to start the next build.

Aside from color, do you know what brand of laser you might buy?

im going to go with a Aimshot.  ive gotten to play with them and they see to be pretty solid.  they seem to be a little better constructed than the Leapers or Baraska i have seen.

I'd add a BUIS too.

Welcome, gotta say, very interesting setup for a scoped AR. I would definitely +1 to the BUIS, although im not sure if those rings you have on there would clear anything other than maybe a magpul BUIS. Id also say look into a magpul/Vltor stock (big difference over stock collapsible in my opinion). But im rambling, green laser is definitely the way to go, much more visible than you might think. Good luck with the build, post some follow up pics when your done.

the BUIS is actually on the rail.  you can see it just above the AFG.  true the rings aren't high enough to put it under the scope but its still there just in case.  kinda why i want to put a laser sight for CQB and the glass to reach out some distance.  a little weird set up but i originally had a XPS 2.0 on it and hated it.

you realize you need a front AND rear buis, that are in line with each other to work properly, right?!

The front is ready to go, its a flip up gas black type.  The rear just needs to be moved.
I think he put it on the side to have it in-case the scope broke, then he could mount it on the upper.

Its only 50% homeboy sights.

Screw a laser, just use the force.

i realize this...this fact however does not change the factor, since the rear is not in line with the front
