I have had a 10.5 rig for some time now and last year I ordered a 10" rail for it. With moving and deploying shortly thereafter I never got around to putting it on. Well I am home on leave and I finally got it done. Stag lower, J&T upper, MI rail. Nothing else very special.

This thing shoots great and will be even better with a nice brake on it.

Got my 11 year old son out and taught him how to use iron sights. He did very well. He was able to hit a 3" orange at 75 yards first try.

That really made his day. Put about 500 rounds down range at all sorts of targets and was an awesome day spent with the boys before I head back to Afghanistan next week.

And finally me and the boys (funny how my 16 year old makes the rifle seem even smaller- he is 6'4")

Nice looking rig, that shot of your younger Son looking through the sights is great. That countryside looks familiar, Eastern WA?
Thank you for your service.

I cant wait to get back and get the boys to an Appleseed shoot. I think it would build even better skills to get taught from others. Both of them are hitting clay pigeons at 100 yards with their Marlin .22 so I think they are well on their  way to excellent marksman skills.

You sir are a lucky man!

What looks to be a couple of fine young men, living in a beautiful healthy enviro, obvious pride in our country and service to back it up (thanks)...AND a 10.5"SBR that you share with and teach repect towards with your kids! !!!!

My kind of the" American Dream"!

Oh, the new rail looks great too.

My only suggestion is snag a BAD-ASS Ambi Selector for your lefty son... with obvious natural skills he is showing he deserves it IMHO. Tell him I said Lefties Rule ..ha,ha.

Oh, and yeah that shot of him is a framer for sure.

All the best to you and your family.
