Anyone have any experience with these https://store.magpul.com/product/MAG405/50 ? I think it looks cooler and more functional than the standard hand guards. I can't afford a quad rail at the moment. Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

They are GTG and will cover pretty much any use for most people.

if u want a cheap reliable replacement for the standard handguards you cant get any better than the magpuls

I tried to put one on a HBAR carbine. It would not fit with the Magpul rail attached at the 10 o'clock position. Both screws rubbed against the heavy barrel. I transferred it over to a lightweight barrel and now it works with the attached rail section.

I use 'em on everything i have (except for a retro 604 M 16 upper build) ––- love the feel. And if you have a lightweight rifle already, they aren't going to add any bulk ––- I am a KISS kind of guy ––- Magpul's stuff makes me happy in that regard –––––– i have a bracket to mount a light to my FSB ––- i dont feel an intense need to mount a lot of crap to my handguards ––- but you can mount a limited amount of stuff to them anyway ––- the green carbine with the pencil barrel has a rail bolted to the bottom of the MOE that i use for miscellaneous things –––––– its good stuff , but like anything else, it depends on what you want to do with your rifle or your philosophy towards building your rifle –– my rifles probably make me look like im a stockholder in the company but nothing could be further from the truth
