I have the Spikes Bag, its pretty nice but I don't like having to always shove the magazines inside the velcro. I was looking at this bag here by Hybrid Technologies. Has anyone ever used it? Hows the build?

You don't like shoving the mags into the Velcro pockets that are there to shove mags into so you're going to shell out money for a new bag? Not to be a smartass but I hope someday my problems are like yours.

You probably do not own a Spikes bag, or know anything about them.. Spikes does not have mag pockets..

ETA.. I'm not trying to be a smart ass either..

OP sorry I do not know anything about the bag pictured, but I had one similar that was a Sportsman's guide brand and it was good to go.. I like the discreetness of the spikes bag better though..

Probably where the foam insert is placed to make the bag more rigid would be my guess..

I have one just about like the one pictured made by ACE. It was a cheap fun show find, and I've been impressed with it's durability for the money. It does a decent job of housing one rifle and it's mags. I've been pretty rough with it and the rifle has sustained no damage.

Having said all of that, it is now the bag for one of my nicer AK's and it just kindof collects dust now. I wanted something better with more versatility and a few more pockets.

The AR's ride in a voodoo tactical bag now. It isn't anything too special, but I really like it. It is a sportsman's guide thing (likely elsewhere too). People on here were saying it was great, and I needed something better so I asked santa. It easily carries 2 fully outfitted rifles, 2 hand guns, Lots of small odds and ends, and has some MOLLE webbing for adding mag pouches. The cool thing about it is that there isn't alot of extra bulk. When you only want to carry 1 rifle, it stays pretty flat.

The best part was the price. It is about half of alot of the high-end bags, and I don't think you lose anything with the cheapness.

I'm not trying to steer you away from that bag as it is likely decent, and if you are in a pinch it is better than nothing. However, if you are looking for a "good" bag for multipurpose carrying of crap to the range - go voodoo (or something else).

i highly recommend you handle a bag before you purchase.. alot of the bags have different feel to them.. some are stiffer than others.. look at the pockets.. strap options and etc.  buying it from a internet store is probably going to be a bad idea as it won't give you a good sense of the quality of a bag.

i bought this bag at a gun show.. took me about a year to find one i like..

in the front. it has Molle for attachment options.. which came with 3 molle bags. each pocket has velcro, buckle, and flex cord retention straps

inside is padded with strap to hold the gun.. and it is a 2 bag gun.. so it can easily hold 2 rifles.

on the back side.. it has covered compartment for back straps so you can carry it like a bag pack.. which i find extremely useful.  your bag gets heavy with 2 guns and some gear in it..  so ability to carry on your back is super.

I just picked up a bag tonight at Gander Mnt. It is a gander mnt brand, but I cant find it on there sight. It has back back straps and such. Plenty of storage that is enclosed behind a zipper with attachment points and the like. I have not used it yet, so I might hate it, but it was under $60 so not a huge lose.

It's the same as mine. It was branded ModGear from Midway, but when I got it, it had a Condor tag attached inside. I paid a little over $50 shipped for it from Cheaper than Dirt. Love isn't even a good enough word to describe how I feel about this thing. I love the MOLLE pouches.

i don't know what brand mine is..   i just looked at the material, build, and options.. and i bought it.. i paid $72 or $79.. i don't remember exactly..  it's been good so far.
i also have a bagmaster carbine bag.  i have it over 20 years.. and it still is in almost perfect shape..   build quality is definitely there on the bagmaster bag i bought.

NcStar, yeah the aYugo of AR stuff. Attached slings, mag pockets, various sizes, doubled sided zippers. $15-20 each. Some of them don't even SAY NcStar on them, so people can't tell.

I really, really like my bulldog cases.

Mine have taken an unbelievable amount of abuse and are still in great shape.

I have a local vendor that carries them and I was looking for a few inexpensive bags for padded closet storage for some shotguns and C&Rs, I bought a few of them and they turned into range bags.
I even bought one with all the pockets and zippers so I can look all tactical when I go to the range

I have a bag like the OP posted and one of these above.  This one will hold a LOT of stuff and can get heavy.  I still like it better.

I have the cheapo winchester $29 case from SG as well and it does it's job.  I can stuff two magazines into each pouch.  I usually leave one empty to use for oil, tools, erpro etc.

They are both GTG.  Just depends what your use requires.

I really like AMS's AR cases.   I've had mine for 5 years and a bunch of
range trips.  They are sturdy and each of the 5 side pouches will hold
2ea 30rd mags.   All the other one's I looked at would only hold one mag per pouch.  There's also a zippered triangular front pocket.  I
think that the carry handle on the top like mine are a better idea than
the handle on the bottom like the Galati Gear shown above because you are setting the rifle down on the sights or scope with them.
I got a 36" for my carbine and a 42" for my rifle.  I picked them up at Green Mountain Guns.  Just click on the cases on the left.

Aside from the color, your bag looks just like my Condor dual rifle bag. Like you, I've been searching for the ideal modular soft rifle case for years, and this one is the closest thing to ideal that I've been able to find so far I love the modularity, as well as the ability to carry it like a duffel, a shoulder bag, or a back pack. When my daughter and I hit the range there is enough room for everything we need: two rifles, mags, ammo, targets, staple gun, Otis kit, FAK, muffs...you name it. I'm no seamstress, but to my eye it appears to be pretty well made-and constructed using quality zippers, buckles etc.

Can't remember what I paid for mine, but it was fairly reasonable.

ETA: If you want small, discreet, and inexpensive-this bag was intended to carry a paintball marker and cost less than $15.00. I use it for my trunk gun:
