| I have one simple question about building an upper for the first time. I plan on building a 6.8 SPC upper to use with my current colt that I have. I plan on using all new parts on this upper. My question is, will I need to check the head spacing on this upper when I am finished and before firing it? If so where do I start and what is the steps I need to take to ensure safety for myself and my kids before we plan on firing it. I am not new to AR's at all but I am a green horn when it comes to building. Thanks in advance! |

If your bolt and barrel came as a kit you shouldn't have to and it would probably be ok to just mount it all up. If you bought a bolt separately, you shouldn't have to, but it wouldn't hurt. I don't know anything about the different Spec 6.8spc so I can't comment if there is a difference in headspace between barrels chambered in one or the other. |
| Check out www.ar15performance.com They are the best at the 6.8 world. They sell their own barrels along with matched bolts. I plan on using them for my 6.8 build. |
