I built two identical 16" midlengths, and put an Enidyne in one after being told that it made the gun much smoother to shoot. Shooting the two side by side, the difference in recoil is about nil. I guess you could say that with the Enidyne, recoil impulse is a tiny bit smoother, but overall recoil is the same. If I had it to do over, I would not buy one.
There may be other scenarios such as shorter barrels, shorter/higher-pressure gas systems, full-auto, etc. where it may be useful. But for the average AR15... skip it. As for the above-linked report of breaking them... the author of that thread was using one in a rifle which had a seemingly significantly over-pressured gas system. Longevity in such a situation doesn't necessarily extrapolate to more sane rifle configurations. |

I ran an Enidine for 5k+ rounds on a race-gun without a problem. I also ran a JP Tank Break, and other recoil reducing mods on it... It's not an exaggeration to say that gun felt like a .22, barely any change in POA at 200+m It does smooth/reduce the recoil... marginally. I like them, I know they work, but I don't run them anymore (expensive, and I'm not a 3gun wanna-be anymore)... besides Enidine buffers wouldn't really be noticed in a gun except at all but the extended ranges (200-300m+) |

Well, guess I will go with the Spikes then, not worth the drama for the Enidine. What's wrong with a Carbine Buffer? Is it not reliable for you? Haven't even built my first AR yet, just ordering all my parts and came across the Enidine and wanted to know people's reviews/thoughts... |

gimmick I think you are wrong. How so? Explain yourself. It does in fact slow the ROF on a machinegun. That is a fact. Gimmicks do not slow the ROF. Gimmicks do nothing. This buffer does something. ok...maybe "gimmick" was the wrong word. piece of sh*t better suits it. sorry! |
| I have a endine buffer for my 24" long range build and it is my first time using one. Like everyother guy out there I pulled the rifle buffer out tossed it on a rifle buffer spring and threw it in my rifle buffer tube'd PRS stock. Next I attached the upper and let the gun sit for a month before I actually assembled it and function checked the new build. Well the bolt does not go back far enough to lock behind the bolt catch. Of course I TOSSED the paperwork that might have come with the buffer. What did I do wrong? Does the spring need to be shortened to make up for the longer new hydraulic buffer? |

I had a regular stock screw holding my PRS on the tube instead of the one they send with the new stock. There is a very good reason they supply a shorter bolt. |
| i just put a mesa tactical conversion collapible stock on my 870P, and they recommended the endine buffer, so i bought one. i have not shot the 870 since then, but my bddy has one without the buffer also, and we are to shoot them both side-by-side to see if it will redce any recoil. we'll see.... |
