Just wanted to share some pictures of my new mid length build. Feel free to comment. Still waiting on the lower to make it to my dealer and am still waiting on the DD 9" Lite rail. Pics were taken with my new Nikon D5000. I am new to DSLR's so if anyone has comments on how to make the pictures turn out better than I am all ears.

How in the hell is this lever / locking latch patentable? It is a simple cam. Being in manufacturing and design for close to 30 years, this stuff just pisses me off. I recently did a battery charge design for a customer. They paid a patent lawyer over $100K to determine if our design was in a violation. You know what - the lawyer found a patent that patents any battery charger that charges a removable battery. ??? That’s just about every battery power device made today. Needless to say they pushed on and ignored it. This stuff is an impediment to progression. The patent system was created to protect revolutionary ideas like the light bulb or internal combustion engine. Not a simple cam / locking lever... ETA - BTW Nice Rifle!! |
Sorry for the delay. Here are some more pics from when it was assembled. I think the pictures do a decent job of showing the difference in the finish between the BCM and LMT recievers. Some pictures are the same but with different settings on the camera(still trying to get this thing figured out )

why free float and leave the sling swivel? That makes me scratch my head. It won't be used. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to ditch it when I get some time. What tool is needed to get rid of it? I'd like to dump mine. A hammer and a punch small enough to fit loosely inside the pin (the side with the countersink so to speak). Just smack it once and the curled outsides will fold in and you can punch it out the rest of the way. |
