Anyone using these threaded roll pins?  How do they work for you?  Do you have to really dig the threads into your lower, so much so that it may cause damage?

I believe those were actually specially made lowers MADE for use with those.

don't think that will work in any old lower.

think it was made for the ar15chatterbox.com forum.

I personally have no problems using the regular roll pins.. and i dislike the rollmark on that lower ... so yeah.. ill pass .

I've never seen that before. (that's probably not saying much)  Maybe for billet lowers only?

I would rather have the standard roll pin setup myself. You are not going to break many bolt stops even over many rounds, the standard pin is easy enough to remove if needed.

If you could even get one of those individually, you'd have to tap your bolt catch hole. You don't just pound it in there. I'd love to get a dozen of them and install 'em in my lowers. I hate having to worry about dinging up my lower installing that bolt catch pin.

POF Also has this feature. And as stated above you have to tap the hole, you can't just drill it on it.

FWIW, I just put a small square of electrical tape on the lower just before I tap in the bolt catch roll pin. That way, if the punch slips it will mar the tape rather than the lower

Once the pin is installed I peel off the tape and all is well.

What's the matter with the rollmark?
No big gawdy spiders, snakes, deer heads, ect.
Clean and simple.

Well since you asked...

1.  I don't like advertising websites on my rifle.  Especially ones with crappy names like AR15Chatterbox.  I don't look at that and think... weapon.  I think 12 year-olds playing Call of Duty.

2.  From a design standpoint (I am a graphic designer) that logo is shit.  Looks like something made by that same 12 year old after he was done playing CoD.

For the record im not a fan of BCM, Spikes, Bushmaster either.

Stag is ok... its fairly innocuous.

I actually really like Olympic's  rollmark alot... its pretty solid.  One day im going to get a Noveske barrel setup on a Oly lower... thatll show em.

Don't let my not liking the rollmark stress you out though... rollmarks are a personal preference sort of thing and you'll never win if you get heated about things like that.

I think that Quentin Defense roll mark looks like crap; I'd never want a dissertation on my lower. The ChatterBox roll mark isn't bad but the text is way too big. I wouldn't buy either. If I wanted a billet lower I'd go with a Tactical Innovations or LaRue(yes, I drink koolaid every now and then).

Man some people will choose roll mark ( Olympic ) over quality ( BCM, Spikes )   that says it all. I  reckon that it is a good thing we have so many manufacturers  to select from. As for me I will take quality over a stupid roll mark any day. Maybe  I  am the strange one, who knows?

You liking it or not stressing me out? Hardly

12 year olds playing COD.

I really don't care if you like the roll mark or not, or the crappy name of a forum, or the crappy logo "designed by a 12 year old playing COD".

Merry Christmas to all !

Well the billet lower is a "fix for a non-existent problem", and this threaded pin is just another nice touch.
Would I worry about adding this to a lower that wasn't made for it like some of the billet lowers? Nope.

I prefer to keep my American Girl dolls in the original packaging..... wait this thread is talking about roll pins?  I'm sorry, the discussion of which roll mark is prettier than the others distracted me from the topic at hand.

Apples and oranges dude. People do sometimes swap out buttstocks, that mod saves the detent and spring from being lost. How often do you have to replace the bolt catch?

They only work on that lower. No longer technical.
