I did a search on a JP-15 and you guessed it zero matches. Anyways anyone on here have one? I have pretty much decided on either a Les Baer or JP-15.  I will be used exclusively for coyote hunting and ringing steel out to 600m or so.  I have heard the compensator on the JP's more or less eliminates muzzle jump, perfect for hunting yotes under moonlight when multiple dogs come in. It sucks loosing the sight picture and would be nice not to.  I have also heard good thing about Les Baer  AR's especially in the accuracy department.  Whatever i choose I will go with a 1:8 twist in a 18" or 20" bbl so i shoot 50gr. vmax's and up to the 75gr MK's for ringing steel . I know better can be built, but frankly I don't have the time.  Hopping one of there can produce  .5MOA or close.

Out of the two, I would go with JP rifles.  They are top notch and excellent guns all around.

Also, take a look at LaRue Tactical's Stealth Uppers.  You can get any barrel length you want and they have 1 in 8 twists.  They guarantee 1/2" groups with match ammo.

Also, take a look at the 6.5 Grendel versions of the JP-15.  That round is accurate to 1200 yards, and very flat shooting.  Plus you can get rounds that average 123 grains, so you would have a lot more knock down power and lethality on yotes and other varmints.

Les Baer makes nice rifles, but just like Wilson Combat, they are very expensive for what you get.

I have one that I use for competition.  I am very pleased with it.  I use the smaller comp, and find it to work quite well, albeit a little on the loud side (as with most compensators).  Combined with the adjustable block, and low-mass carrier, follow-up shots are very fast.  There are comps out there that will give you even more reduction, although they are a little heavier and larger, which would make the rifle too front-heavy for my taste.

With the right load, it is entirely possible to get the accuracy that you are looking for.  The barrel seems to be very precise, and is finished quite well.  Also, if you like single-stage triggers, their triggers are quite nice.  I use the three-pound trigger, and find it to be very crisp, with a very short travel and reset.

Even if you were to build your own, it seems it would be hard to surpass the quality of JP rifles for your purposes.  There is one thing, though, that you might consider.  I haven't looked at their pricing structure lately, but I know they offer uppers.  Perhaps that might be looking into so as to avoid excise tax.  While their lowers are certainly high-quality, I don't think they would be requisite.  I think you can even send them a stripped lower, and have them do the installation and fitting.

The LaRue rifles that I have used have also been very nice.  However, I have never owned one, so I don't have enough time with one to really give a worthwhile opinion.

I can't comment on Les Baer rifles.
