| Does Bushmaster sell a flattop upper receiver without M4 feed ramps (and preferably cheaper than the V-match)? I have a Bushmaster A2 carbine that I want to make into a flattop, and since it's my only non-frankengun, I'd like to use a Bushmaster upper if I can find what I need. Thanks. |

Don't get hung up on "Bushmaster" parts. I did and I gained nothing except to pay more for parts that were no better than any others in regards to upper receivers. Bushmaster uses/has used upper receivers from at least 4- 5 different sources.
L stands for LAR/Grizzly and Y stands for YHM. Below is taken form the Bushmaster FAQ. Question / Issue
what are the markings of authentic flat top upper receiver of a real bushmaster? Answer / Solution Bushmaster marks the chrome lined barrels with B MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 or 1/7 and HBAR if it is a heavy barrel. The 6 position telestocks have the Bushmaster snake logo. Upper receivers may have a "L", "O", "Y" or inverted "T" stamped onto the rear of the upper receiver takedown lug but some are not marked. The inside of the upper receivers is a lighter gray color than the outside as a Mil Spec dry film lube is baked onto the inside which many other manufacturers do not include. Bushmaster uses an allen head cap screw that uses a 3/16" allen wrench for the pistol grip screw. Steel parts are manganese phosphate finished and aluminum parts are hard coat anodized. The barrels have forged front sight bases installed with taper pins and not castings. Polymer handguards have heat shields installed. You can add P to the id mark on the rear takedown lug as well. |
