Thanks guys! It seems to be well balanced, I was trying for a upper setup that was as light as possible with an 11-13" rail. I decided to go with the 13" since the TRX rails are so light, and I'm glad I did cause I wasn't planning on mounting the TLR in front of the front sight. I just couldn't seem to find a good spot to mount it and then I thought of the setup Vickers runs with his DD FSB rail and tried it on this. Wow, I am actually surprised how well it works! I still have a reasonable amount of sight radius left which is critical because I am using open sights only. Maybe an optic will come when I finish my undergrad (or possibly graduate program, depends on cash/time). We shall see. I actually am going to be able to go shooting tomorrow (just enough time before the sun sets lol) and I'll post target pics if I can. Like I said before, I would like to weight it but the only precise scale for items of this size that I have access to is a bicycle scale at the bicycle shop I used to work at and I'm not quite sure they would be wild about me bringing a rifle in haha...I'll see if I can borrow it Mike |

Ok guys, I took the gun out today and at 25 yards its shooting low and to the right about 4 inches. I adjusted the windage over significantly and got it centered. The elevation was adjusted to the limit but it was still shooting about 1.5 inches low @ 25 yards. I put a ruler on the top of the rail and the rail is uneven with the receiver. I took the rail off when I installed the rail attachment on the side. I lined up the rail with the receiver as best as I could when I re-installed the rail. I tightened the two screws securing the rail snugly, but not overly tight. The 'gap' that was described in the rail install guide is stated to be about 1/8". I measured it and it was about 1/16". So basically that's all that I know and I am trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong, or what could be wrong with this setup. Any suggestions? |

Aimpoint and then it's finished. I just got a BCM light weight middy upper. I like it a lot. I just put mine on paper Sunday and I'm planning on shooting it at a 3 gun match on this Sunday. I just have the magpul handguards so I bet mine is a bit heavier than yours. |

So do you guys have any suggestions regarding how to properly align the rail to the receiver? I am thinking of getting a detachable carry handle and mounting it in-between the rail and the receiver and then snugging up the rail system. What do u guys think, good idea or any suggestions? |

I have never installed that particular rail, but most rails are built now days which will make it impossible for them not to be aligned. The removeable rear sight is one option, Brownell's sells a tool for that exact purpose too.
I would contact the float tube manufacturer and listen to their suggestions before buying something you may not want or will only use once. |
