| I am considering buying a PWS upper to build my AR. I have not heard a lot on this company, and was hoping someone could give me some feedback on the quality of these weapons. Much appreciated. |
| I think that these uppers have not been out very long so it will be hard to tell. They are made here in Boise and I know that they just started offering lowers as well as complete rifles. They also do piston uppers. I have seen a few at the local fun shop and just by looking/touching, they seem good to go, but I have no rounds down range with these to make an official conclusion. If the quality of these uppers are on par with their comps., then these should have no problem. |

I enjoy shooting my piston conversion and it's reliable now that I got the gas block fixed. It shot loose and cracked so I sent it back to PWS. They replaced the gas block fairly quickly and I've since put several hundred rounds through it (I don't get to shoot very often). I can shoot Silver Bear or brass (M193,M855) without issue, but the Tula gets a few FTEs (happens in other ARs as well - cheap crap).
I can't really speak to their overall design quality since the retrofit is only as good as the original will allow - I have it on a CMMG middy as more of a hobby/test gun than a primary AR. However, I have been impressed with the operation of the carbine thus far and Stacey took care of it when needed. I'd like to get a Mk116 when funds permit since it is the most intriguing piston design out there and I trust in their CS/quality. I use one of their FSC556 comps on a 20" LaRue stealth and am happy with that. |
