I have an ar15 and it is pretty much complete the only thing it needs is the butt stock plate thing on the end. Is it rubber or plastic or metal? I have attached a picture showing what i need. also I have the spring and little detent pin that goes between the stock and the lower.

My two questions:

Where can I buy only this plastic/metal/rubber piece that goes in the end of the buttstock preferably black

Also does it go spring then detent or detent then spring?

question 1. It is made of plastic and has a door to put a cleaning kit in.

question 2. detent first, then spring, then stock. the purpose is that the spring is put under pressure by the stock, transferring the pressure to the detent, and that is what keeps your take down pin in snug and happy.

that is an A2 rifle stock, it takes 2 screws. Try looking on the EE or call Del-ton, Model 1 Sales, etc. Check out their websites, you might be able to find one and order it through the web. worst case, im sure some member here has an A2 stock body they would let go for cheap. post it on the want to buy in the EE (Equipment Exchange)
