I'm looking at a rail system for the upper I asked up in a previous post. Link to Which BCM Upper thread.
My options are: 1) Magpul MOE Midlength pros: weight and price cons: durability, lack of mounting options, lack of ventialtion 2) Troy Ind MRF-DI pros: weight, durability, mounting space cons: size, rail covers desirable, profile 3) DD Drop In pros: weight, profile, mounting options cons: price, price and price I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I want something effective and durable. I will mount a vertical grip, no questions asked. A laser or light have a high probability of mounting. |
| I would recommend you look at the Omega series rails from Daniel Defense. You can get those in carbine, mid and rifle length. It is a drop in rail that also free floats your barrel. They cost a bit more than a standard drop in, non free float rail system but they are very nice. |

The MOE is better than you think. the MOE is a glorified set of loosely fitting plastic HGs, like all plastic HGs little rail pieces can be added to it i own a set of OD MOE HGs and i've also borrowed a set of black MOE HGs, neither of them fit tight on a Colt or an LMT upper. why is it better? because it has Magpul stamped on the side? i swear Magpul could shit in a box, slap their logo on it, and this site would be tripping over their dicks to be the first ones to own it. |

Get the DD Omega DD would be my choice too. ETA: I do have some MOE HG's and they are fine but they do reside in the box they came in.
