w/ new bolt, charging handle and LPK in my possesion for my new AR build I was hoping i could get some suggestions for a reasonably priced upper (under 600) that i can order in 1/7 twist, 14.7 in. w/ flash hider attached to bring to legal length in my home state. Don't need hand guard or rails. thanks in advance for your help gentlemen

BCM. It will be a 14.5" with extended flash hider though.

Primary arms has a good deal on a CMMG 14.7 upper. I have 1 & am very pleased with it.

I am not in the market, and am a "colt koolaid drinker".

However, if I were in the market and were not a koolaid drinker, I would almost certainly get a BCM 16'' M4 or midlength carbine. High quality, and at least right now, you can't beat the price.

I have an RRA, CMMG, and BCM mid length uppers. All are good, but I like the BCM the most, it is the most accurate and has a great fit and finish. Either way all are good, but the RRA is very heavy

BCM 14.5" w/ A2 perm FH is the way I went. Add a BCM bcg and your should have no issues at all and even if you do they have great CS and will take care of you.

Should be able to get in for under $600 for what your looking for.

i have a BCM BCG and am leaning towards them or Sabre Defense for my upper.

i wouldn't mind having the xtra bolt and i hear great things about Spike's. I think I'd consider LMT or Spike's but I'd have to ship out to have permanent FH installed. That's one real perk of BCM & some others for me. Is the "Light" upper that much different from the regular 14.5 (the one that's in stock & on sale)? Is the weight negligible?
