Brand new M4gery, good brand, I had one light primer strike, and one fail to extract in 60 rounds today, should I be worried or should I consider this a break in period? I'm not exactly new to this, and my homebrew frankenAR with Bushmaster lower has never failed, not even once in well over a thousand rounds. I finally spend some cash to buy what is considered a 'mil spec' unit and here I'm having reliability issues in only 60 rounds. Kind of eroded my confidence in my new 'go to' gun.
Ammo used was new Federal 100 round valupack stuff.

Ifi ts brand new lube genrously and make sure the chamber is cleaned..if its new was it cleaned before shooting?I would get an Xpoer extractor spring but if it was just those 2 problems out of 60 shots I would shoot some more to see if it keeps happening.

It's not that the extractor claw did not pull the case out, it was more like a failure of the bolt seating all the way onto the case. Forward assist did not help, not even close enough. Perhaps a fail to extract was not an accurate description of the problem.

If the bolt is not closing on a live round even with the forward assist then the headspace could be off or a chamber problem or most likely maybe the round was damaged or off some way.You fired 60 shots so I think it just needs to be lubed well.Did you generously lube inside the carrier and the bolt rings, lugs, body? So it was a failure to chamber?id try different mags as well.

Anything is possible. Only problems I run into with a new build have been:
I did not scrub the chamber prior to shooting
I did not lube the weapon before shooting.
Once was enough to make me a believer.
After I did the two required steps, the weapon ran fine.

There is also a lot of crap ammo out there that used to be considered reliable.
I've had issues with WWB and Fed AE.
Oddly enough, no bad Wolf yet.

Try a new magazine and new ammo. Always go for the cheapest solution first.

If you're really worried about it, contact the manufacturer. If it's a top quality brand, they'll make it right for you.
