Hello, yes I did do a search, however I couldn't find a answer to my question.  How do bipods mount, and where do they mount to.  When I am buying my FF HG, can I buy round aluminum HG, or do I need to buy quad rails and use a bipod on either style?  Please give me the bipod 101, thanks.

It depends on which one you purchase but most (like the harris) attach to a sling swivel.

But you can also buy a picatinny rail adapter like this.

If your buying a round "tube" handguard then all you need is a sling swivel mounted up front like this.

If you buy a round ff tube, you'll need a sling stud.  If it doesn't come with one or a hole for one, you'll have to drill and tap to accommodate.  If you go this route, some people put a backup nutplate or nut on the inside of the tube.

You could get a Maki forward grip/bipod, that way you dont have to have both and it keeps the rifle neat and clean without a bunch or acessories installed, keeps the weight down too.. I love mine..The link is just to show you what Im talking about, you can find it sheaper somewhere else, I got mine for 80 bucks somewhere, but I cant remember..Enjoy...
