I know this is a dumb question but how do you get the front takedown pin out of a S&W. It has been awhile since I have my RRA but it seems like it just pushed out like the back one. I know there is a spring detent as I can see it, what am I missing?

The detent needs to be depressed so that the pivot pin can be removed.

There is a hole in the pin when its all the way out use a 1/16 punch through the hole and depress the detent and turn the pin then pull it out as it clears the detent from its tract go slow so the deten does not fly out.

Cup your hand around the front of the lower where the spring/detent is, so that you can catch the detent and spring. Otherwise one both will spring away when you release the pin.
