My buddy got a 16" Bushy Patrolman with crap plastic guard that I gave him shit about. He never replaced it so I got him a Hogue grip, Ergo Gapper, and a USGI trigger guard from PK. (I assume RRA manufacture if they are made in-house.) I told him it was a 10 min. job max and had him bring it over. We played hell reinstalling the roll pin w/o losing an ear, even with Mobil-1 on it. After finally working it in place, we discovered the problem. The hole in the TG is so tight that the roll pin rotates in the ears and the TG is slightly out of line with the detent side requiring a slight tweak to get it to snap into place. The ears are NOT bent.
All I can think is an out of spec TG. Anyone have a similar issue? Might just order another one. |
| I would be happy that the trigger guard was holding all the tension from the spring pin and not the lower ears. But then I would not have changed a trigger guard for the reason that it was changed. For me it has not been that uncommon for the trigger guard to not line up perfectly with the front.. I have had a few that were that way. Maybe the pin bent a little? |
| If the pin is in the trigger guard that tight, you guys are going to have a time getting it out again. Due to my obsessive compulsive nature, I would try changing it out with a new trigger guard. If it weren't for my OCD, however, I'd just leave it alone. How often will you be opening the trigger guard anyway? |

The plastic TG is / was absolutely unacceptable. Why? Did it malfunction or not work properly? Has one ever broken on you before? This. The plastic trigger guard will take more abuse and can't be bent to block to the trigger. Given the choice I prefer the plastic trigger guard. |
