I have a 6920, it has the 16" barrel. I would like a 14.5 barrel with one of these.

http://primaryweapons.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=141&idcategory=6       and can I buy the barrel and keep it at my house, I have a friend that welds so I was thinking of asking him to tack it on for me or does it need to be done a certain way?

Have you considered having a smith cut down your 16" and pin and weld the comp?

there's adco 2 states away in Ohio, not a long distance to ship too and they are +1.

This....send it to adco.  I did the same thing, had my 6920 cut to 14.5 and perm'd a vortex to it.  You can barely tell where they pinned it

Last I knew JB weld was NOT a BATFE accepted way to perm. attach a muzzle device.
Blind pin and weld would be the best way to go.

+1

There are no adhesives approved for permanent attachment. The approved methods are pin and weld, welding around the joint, and silver solder.

LL,

What FH are you planning on?  If you cut your barrel down to 14.7 then you can use your existing FH.  Down to 14.5 you need a longer FH (+$) to make the magical 16"
