Anyone have any experience with the CMMG conversion kit? Is it worth $150 (carrier group +1 mag)?

mine has over 2000 rounds with only one issue to speak of. one of my mags (i have 6) will not function with 26 rounds. you can chamber the first round but it will not seat properly. easy fix... i load them all to 25 and forget about it. well worth it IMHO. several friends have them and all have been good to go as well. |

Spend the extra cash and get the stainless. My regular one was a little picky until I broke it in. It really likes the Fedral 555 stuff.
Do yourself a favor and pick up some extra mags. I have a total of 3 and that does pretty well for drills. Just one will have you reloading a lot. |
| I got the SS CMMG from Palmetto, along with 3 mags for $189. I now have 10-26 round mags and 3-15 round mags just purchased for an AppleSeed shoot.(30 round mags get in the way with prone position shooting.) I load em all up at home before going to the range so I'm not spending time loading, just shooting!..........Ed |
| I have the stainless. I had 3 fte's in the first mag. It has run 100% in 3 different AR's since. I have about 800 rounds on it. I've had 3 different conversions from 3 different manufacturers. This one has definetly been the best. Easy to clean too being stainless. |
| My kit defies 22l logic and PREFERS the cheap ammo. It eats up the cheap walmart bulk stuff and chokes on minimags. Makes no freakin sense to me. I have the blued version btw. It ran like a raped ape straight out of the tube it came in. I poured some #9 oil on it and did mag dumps. Its good times! |
