Looking into building a AR-10 .308 caliber and found that there is not to many makers available lowers. Local gun shops here in SF CA CMMG is the only one available for $399 +. I found a lower at TacticalMachining.com for $200, is this price too good to be true? can anyone tell me anything about this lower as far as quality, compatibility to uppers, etc...

Are you looking for an Armalite or DPMS upper compatible lower?
They are very different and will also help to tell you what your options are. Also a .308 AR is going to cost a lot more to build than a standard AR15 due to less demand and fewer parts competition. For AR10=Armalite there are Armalite Aero Noveske Eagle arms Iron Ridge Arms and maybe some others. That Tactical mach lower looks to be for DPMS uppers. The CMMG one is also for DPMS uppers. |
