What is a good quality set of roll pin punches? Doing some upgrades on my AR and need a good set of punches. |
| I have the Brownells set, and they are very high quality. I like to patronize Brownells for tools for several reasons. First, the stuff that they sell tends to be top notch, and they stand behind it. Second, Brownells has a tremendous video and instruction resource on their website, and, if you need some more help, they have gunsmiths on staff that you can talk to by phone. Lastly, they are good people who are friendly, helpful, and have been successful because they have been doing it right for so long. Now, having said that, the prices on their AR parts are ridiculously high, so I buy the tools there, and get my parts from other reputable sources like Spikes and PK. |

I got mine from brownell's You'll also want the roll pin starters... The starters are frikken lifesavers.. +1 to that. If your going to be doing work or building from time to time. Go over to brownells and order the starters (my father always said buy the right tools once). Punches I got from hardware store. |

MidwayUSA has a set from Model 1 Sales...7 punches for $15.00....and don't forget the starters...like said they are a LIFESAVER!!!! I ruined all of them on one build. I mushroomed the crap out of the brass drift on some BCM FSB pins, then I bent the heck out of the steel ones on those same pins (and yes! I was going the right way). I picked up some Grace USA puches and so far they are very nice. I also got a Snap-on brass drift from work, free, its very nice. |
