So I am building a shtf gun. I want to use quality parts for it. I am am about 99% sure I want the geissele ssa:

Surfing Bravo I also came across this one from Wilson Combat:

http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Wilso...n%20tr-tuu.htm

It is also a single stage and looks like it is a sold build. it also cost $100 more.

Bottom line: Which would you put in your quality shtf AR and why?

Up to the last three builds I uses RRA 2 stage triggers.  I have switched to the Geissele SSA and future builds (and as soon as money is freed up the RRAs will be replaced) will be SSA FCGs!  The RRAs have in the past wore out with high round counts, though no so much now.  The quality of the SSA is second to none and solid reliable.

I've had a geissele fail on me in the past and a Timney bite the dust.

Both great triggers but for a SHTF gun I roll with standard triggers.

The standard single stage trigger that comes in your standard lpk.

I just ordered a RRA with a 2 stage trigger.  Ive done lots of research and found the 2 stage to be  a great setup.

I'm assuming you want durability/reliability first and foremost in a shtf weapon. That said, there's nothing wrong with the standard trigger, especially after you break it in some. If you were looking for something highspeed precision based, then that's a different story and recommendation.

The RRA 2-Stage is really the best setup.

You will not regret! I myself have 7X ot them on various builds.

Oh and 2x on DPMS 308's

It is not the best setup for a SHTF rifle, far from it actually.  Standard GI trigger is the best for a defensive rifle.

stick with a good GI trigger for a SHTF rifle.

What sort of failure? And which Geissele?

Standard GI trigger, unless you're the DM in an infantry squad

Most of my triggers are just the standard, good quality LPK stuff.  The best trigger (pull, break, etc.) I have is a Timney drop-in.  It's been very reliable, everything goes "bang" and is my favorite, but it's in a custom build that's not gonna see 10,000 rounds.  I trust it as a SHTF rifle, but if it were my ONLY defensive rifle, I'd stick with the plain 'ol stock hardware.
