| Does anyone here have one? All I have right now is the A2 birdcage my upper came with. I'd like something to help with muzzle flip to decrease follow up shot time. I also like the aggressive end of it for muzzle strikes since this is my HD carbine. Impressions, thoughts, PICS? |
| I had the Troy brake. Like said it works okay and it makes your gun loud as hell. I now have the pws fsc556 and it works better than the Troy and it also suppresses flash. The next best thing that I have tried as far as a brake is the surefire one. It works really well. |

Haven't tried the Troy, but it sure looks cool.
I have a Gill break on my 18 inch and it works marvelously, but it is loud.... shooters to the left and right tend to move away.

I have the Medieval on my 16", but I installed it right away so I can't give you a comparison against the stock A2. They are def. aggressive looking
I don't feel it's that loud personally - my 7" pistol with a KX3 is much louder and even that doesn't bother me when wearing proper ear pro. Side Note: Troy also has the "Claymore"muzzle brake now. No experience with it, but it looks mean. "Front towards enemy." I just built an 18" SPR and put a SJC Titan on it. While not aggressive looking, I heard this is one of the best brakes you can get, but is also one of the loudest LOL I'll be shooting it on the 16th, if you haven't decided by then I could give you a range report on this as well. |

What I'd like is to emulate the Magpul guys in how quick they can fire semi auto. I know a good deal of it is the thousands of rounds a year they shoot in training but they do run breaks. The argressive look of the Troy is also a big cool point for me. I mean it's an evil black rifle. It should look like one right? I was also liking the Noveske "can" looking break. As she sits now. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n259/RRACER300ZX/IMG_0028.jpg you will never fire like the magpul guys. they could fire like that with empty threads on the end of their barrel. the A2 does pretty well at reducing muzzle climb. the noveske kx3 (can) flashhider will do nothing to reduce muzzle climb. the only brakes that are going to really do anything are going to be big and ugly. the fsc 556 may be an exception. |
