how much should a mid range 6.8 cost. i am not to brand specific.

Maybe a few dollars more than the same model in 223. Most of the parts are the same. The barrel,bolt and mag are the only things different. You can get a complete Stag upper for less than $500. Put that on any lower with C products mags(usually less than $15 ea) and your ready to go. Have not priced complete rifles myself. Having an upper built by someone like Bison Armory is an even better choice.

Stag model 5 upper is $525. Slap it on any lower that you have and use the correct magazine to rock and roll.

A basic AR-15 Performance upper is $575 and has a few upgrades over the Stag.
Not that the Stag is a bad upper, it's a great deal.
Snap it on the lower of your choice.
