What constitutes one to change the buffers....

Say from a heavier one to a lighter one, vice versa.

Can someone tell me what fixes what. Or guide me where to find the info.

Thanks

I would say to change cyclic rate, reduce recoil, or to accommodate a specific load would be reason for going to a different weighted buffer.

Barrel length, gas port size.

If your gun runs with what is in it I suggest leaving it the way it is.

I've been contemplating switching out my buffer in my LMT carbine, does anyone know what they come with from the factory?

Also my upper is a 14.5" carbine and would like to reduce the felt recoil alittle, so what buffer to switch to?  H, H2, H3, or other and where is a good place to get one?

I put a 9mm buffer in my 16" carbine gas M4gery. The reduction in perceived recoil was quite noticeable. It runs 100% with XM193 and Federal bulk .223 (all I've ever shot in it).

I think its the idea to make a 16" barrel with a carbine gas system run like a 14.5". It reduces the cyclic rate and felt recoil allowing the gun to run smoother which is easier on parts.
