Who still carries the 5.56 field gauge that does not require disassembly of the bolt? Seems like I remember Fulton Armory did at one time. I am looking for a 5.56 gauge with the cutout for the ejector. Does anyone know where to find one?

Why? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile +1. It's not like you can adjust the headspace in the field. What's the point? What do you mean why? You guys don' carry spare barrels, bolts, action blocks, and torque wrenches when you go to the range?
I re-read my post and realized I wrote that I wanted to check headspace in the field. What I meant was I want the field gauge to check headspace because I am too damn lazy to strip the bolt. Also, I think it's cheaper to buy the field gauge rather than one of bolt disassembly tools. It's a pain in the ass without a third hand.
It sucks trying to make sense while typing on a cell phone. So, now that the comedy is over, does anyone know where to get one? |

In the context given, I do not see the reasoning for needing the gauge. Nonetheless, I've seen gauges at Brownells and Midwayusa. If they are out of stock, you might have to do some searching. |

OK - Maybe I need to provide some more clarity. I am looking for a 5.56 USGI field gauge with the cutout for the ejector. I did not, nor am I asking for someone to evaluate my reasoning for wanting the tool. The thread was not started to ask "why", the thread was started to ask "where" I could find one. If anyone could provide this information, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!l |
