It kicks ass but why would you want it if you can't have FA? This comp creates a light show in front of the shooter during FA fire but it absolutely keeps the barrel flat at the same time. No way I'd use it for a semi weapon. Just my $.02 why wouldnt you? |

Get yourself a PWS FSC556 and a good set of ear plugs and never look back! Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

They make the AR-10 like an AR-15, and make the AR-15 like handling a laser beam instead of a gun. Why wouldn't you want one on any gun, unless absolute maximum flash suppression was priority #1? |

I just got one on my new build here in ct. it works great. I haven't done serious accuracy testing yet but there is no indication of an issue. make sure the installer checks that the threading on your barrel is properly aligned with the bore. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I have a PWS FSC556 on a middy RRA.
while shooting some drills (and making good hits) during a Pat Rogers course in November, some of my fellow classmates thought I was bumpfiring... I love the FSC556....you will too (but the person next to you on the range wont )

As far as the flash suppression goes, BATFE used a specific measurement in their testing and the FSC556 performed just outside of those paramaters so it was deemed a non-flash suppressor. ETA: And ADCO pinned a few of them too.

I really don't know because I have never had anything else on this gun to compare it to. What I can say is out of the 4 AR's that I own and the dozens I have shot betweens my friends and work, this gun provides the fastest follow up shots. My recce is actually getting a new Noveske 18" barrel and LaRue 13.2" rails so watch for a thread with true accuracy information in the near future. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Well I will go against the majority here and say that comps suck on 5.56 and 7.62 ARs. I hate comps/muzzle brakes because of the noise directed back to the shooter. If you are talking SHTF rifle, I covet flash suppression much more than reduced muzzle climb. And lets be real, how much does an AR recoil? I think it is very managable. I guess if you live in a ban state then a comp would be okay, I had one on an AR during the ban. But since the ban is almost 6 years dead I don't want a MB near any of my rifles. |

I do not find that the PWS FSC556 reduces the recoil of the weapon but rather reduces muzzle climb. I have Smith Vortex's on most of my ARs and they are great for reducing the flash to about non existent, but the time required to get back on target is 2-3 times longer than that of a weapon set up with a good comp. |

I have one on a SBR (11.5") and it produced no greater flash than the A2 FH on another guy's 11.5" during a night shooting course I took 2 weeks ago. I think it's a great muzzle device and my rifle had zero muzzle rise according to those watching me shoot it. Mine is the SM556 sold at Brownells made for the KAC QDSS-NT4 suppressor. It's the same length as an A2 but does have the FH tines on it. Perfect for 16" barrels if you don't want your barrel to be 18" OAL after installing it.
