| Im use to AK-47s and at my gun range its a single round load only. I just bought a Colt AR-15 so i never fired an AR nor loaded one. Questions are, like my AK can the AR be fired without a instered clip. If so how do i load a single round. Do i just pull back the charging handle load a round in then hit the bolt catch release? |

Can you bring 10 mags and load one round each?
Then change mag every time? It would suck to have to load one round in a single mag every shot. I would do it from a mag as the port hole is somewhat small and hard to finger in a round. Plus with out a mag if you miss it will then just fall though the open magwell. That range would make me want a bolt rifle intead. |

| I have a single shot follower installed in a USGI 20rd mag that I use for single loading bullets that are too long to be loaded to magazine length, in my case 50gn .204. It locks the bolt open after every shot and you can still use the bolt release as normal to close the bolt. |
| Something like this is what you want Sinclair single round follower |

A push feed could care less if it is feed from a mag. or not. Leave the mag. in place and drop the round near the chamber, hit bolt release and fire. 458 |
| Do not let the bolt slam on a round already chambered. This breaks extractors in most any self-loader. Do you think you could load the magazine with multiple rounds if you cut off the gas and used the charging handle as a straight-pull bolt-action? This would technically be on the same plane as a bolt-action rifle with a magazine, a lever-action rifle or even a revolver. |
