Is there any difference in reliability between a 14.5 barrel with a carbine system vs. a 16 barrel with a mid length system ??

thanks in advance for any help

In theory the mid-length would be more reliable simply because there is less port pressure and less pressure on the BCG, resulting in less "wear and tear" on the parts.

but I thought the shorter barrel droped the pressure also so my first thought is that they would be compairable? no

I was thinking the same way as you.

anybody else

and the reason I ask is I was going to go SBR but decided (after reading around on this forum) its not worth the trouble so Noveske N4 Light 14.5" w/ flash hider, carbine or the 16" middy - trying to decide

Unless you think you'll need it in tight confined spaces I'd go mid-length simply because of the extra rail/handguard space and the increased iron sight radius, YMMV.  I am sure that either will be utterly reliable, so don't get too hung up on that.
