| i know i am driving everyone crazy with my postings about take down pins but i want to purchase the correct rifle, so here goes my last question, the pre ban match target competition hbar rifle with a serial number starting with cch 004xxx if it has the REMOVEABLE CARRY HANDLE is it safe to assume it ONLY has the small forward takedown pin ? |

That's a different serial than you were asking about in the other thread, right? My impression is the CCH prefixed serials start at CCH010000, thus there are none below that number and thus no preban CCHs. Are you sure it's not just CH rather than CCH?
Why don't you just call Colt and have them run the serial numbers for you? |

Here's one I just found on GB. Pre-ban, flat top, with full fence, BUT it does appear to be a large pivot pin based on the size of the pivot pin screw heads.

I'm as big a Colt fanboy as the next guy, but $2000 for a preban AR just because it's a large pin flat top? I hem and haw about spending that for a complete Delta HBAR with the case, sling, scope, Colt marked cheekpiece, etc. If you want a large hole flat top upper, just buy a DD, and use all Colt parts with it.
