I know it isn't the fanciest thing out there. But it's mine.

And that makes it "OTAY".

It's a nice rifle.  If you are happy with how it feels and performs than you shouldn't care what others think.

Oh it works for what I'll use it for. And Optics are something that are alway's changing as time and money allow. Next will be a 6.8 or 30AR upper for deer hunting........Probably a Dissipater. I've built around 20 ARs over the years. So I have a fairly good take on what works. And have realistic expectations. All our rifles are comprimises to some degree. Whether it's price, weight, accuracy, ect, ect.

Yeah, LaRue does make some nice stuff fer sur. I've used them before and was very pleased.
OK,

Double Star lower / DPMS internals
DPMS M4 upper unit (16")
A.R.M.S. front sight / Magpul rear sight.
Ergo Ambi Shure grip
Magpul forend / buttstock / trigger guard
Blackhawk single point sling
Optics and mounts: Rex 1.25X4.5 heavy post illum dot / CAA 30mm rings / NcStar QD mount

Most of these with the exception of lower and grip were chosen simply because I had never used them and wanted to put this carbine together for a price / value thing. Some I'll keep and some will undoubtably get changed out, as time takes it's toil. Let's remember......This thing will more than likely never see any kind of combat.....Will get used hunting and for range play. It will be carried as a camp carbine and generally taken care of. It'll get rained on, dusty, and then get cleaned on a fairly regular basis. Unlike my old Colt XM177 which was simply "used" for years, had many burned out barrels replaced and rarely cleaned. I had it for years (Paid $700.00) and sold it for over 1000% profit. Back before Mr. Clintons ban went in to affect. I purchased a dozen lowers from the shop I worked part time at and built them up and sold them for a healhty profit.
