I picked up a semi auto BCG for 90 bucks, and I am wondering if anyone can tell who made it. The only ID mark is an E on the bolt. The extractor also has a black piece of plastic in the middle of the spring (much like the FN and Colt ones I have seen in the Marines). No markings on the carrier, however the staking seems crappy and it does appear to be chrome lined.
Any ideas??

I'm also curious as to manufacturer.

Not sure on the manufacturer, but that gas key looks suspect. Looks to be scored more than staked. Good staking will push metal from the key into contact with the set screws.

Lmts staking has a little crack in the peak of each punch mark and is a lot more pushed in then that. That looks like tiny dents.

Could the "E" on the bolt stand for EMCO? M-16 parts supplier.

Not sure but I recently bought a used Colt that had the same bolt with the same marking on it. The staking on mine was much deeper and more defined. I would like to know who made it as well. Seems to be high quality though. Good luck.

After closer inspection the finish on the Bolt and carrier are the same. However, the key doesn't have the same finish. Perhaps it was added at some point.
I am in the process of re-staking the key.

This.
They also supplied barrels and uppers.
But its a non-auto carrier....
