I have never owned a LWRC so I cannot comment on those, however, I have owned POF, Knights, Colt, RRA, etc. and I would NEVER purchase a POF.

Had problems with POF....company customer service is unacceptably slow.  Know several others who have had problems with their POF's.  I am definitely not only loyal to one company.  I have Colts, Knights, Noveskes, LaRue, FN SCAR, etc.  I have shot just about everything out there and my favorite is definitely the Knights SR15E3.......incredibly sweet rifle.

That's all I have ever run is Colts! I don't have time or the money to shoot every black gun that
has been brought to market ! With every little machine shop that has bought a CNC machine and
is building all the cool guy stuff for the civilian market, I just want to know from some of you what you
have been running and competing with.I like the piston system as well. Don't insult the intelligence guy!

LWRC is one of the better piston builders out there, if not the best.   POF doesn't come close.  Check out the LWRC forum

I've had both.

You cannot compare the two.

The POF is a Dodge Ram, the LWRC is a Mercedes.

I never handled a POF but I do own (2) LWRC M6A2's and they've been relaible thus far with no malfuntions to report. I also have close to a dozen DI AR's from KAC, Noveske, Armalite, and previously owned BM and a RRA. Out of all the AR's I own, I personally like the KAC best. With all the features intergrated and included in the package, it's a heck of a deal IMO.

In the way a Dodge Ram is a crudely built hunk of cheap metal and a Mercedes is a precision-built hunk of expensive metal.

You own POFs and like them. Point noted. Don't let your feelings get hurt by others opinions.

I have an M6a2.  Been a great rifle.  No issues except with some of that HotShot ss109 ammo.  Of the 100 I bought 7 or 8 had the bullet push back into the case causing a misfeed. It eats every thing else I feed it.  Easy to clean, not to say it does not get dirty just easier to clean.  There is a good thread out there where some one shoots one suppressed and it get very dirty.  There was also a good article in SWAT a few months ago about them.  I would not hesitate to get another one but there are a few more DI rifles that I want first.  A KAC E3 and a 6920.  Or maybe one of those new KAC 308 carbines.  Just like most of us here I have several brands in the safe as well.  LMT, and Noveske among them.

As for the POF I looked at them for a while but for me I do not like their rail system.  I have also heard that their customer service can be slow.

Sir James...

POF's are crude. The fit and finish is horrible, ESPECIALLY the finish. Mine shot the piston out the front of the gun on two occasions......I chucked it.

POF lowers are nice though.......because POF doesnt make them.

I have 2 POF uppers - both 11.5" M4 handguard style - one is the older silicon nickel internals, the new is finished interally with NP3. The older lower is on on of my M16s. Fucking thing runs like a top - mag dumps, beta mag dumps, bursts. The newer is on a POF SBR lower and survived a 3 day 1,500 round carbine course and regular rang practice. Fit and finish on both are very fine.

Agree that POF customer service sucks - especially during last year's buying craze. They seemed more humble at SHOT, maybe because of sales and many piston competitors.

My dealer loves LWRC, but a basic POF upper is $1,100 and an LWRC is $2,000. When I want  one for full-auto abuse, cheaper is better.
