Im really thinking of pulling the trigger on a FSC556, but im wondering how effective it really is?
Is it honestly that noticeable? Im trying to decide if im going to upgrade to a magpul MS2 w/ ambi mount, or the FSC556. |
| A friend of mine has one on his PWS DC-16 and it really is effective at reducing recoil, literally feels like a BB gun. It's also effective at giving a rather strong blast back at the operator and creating a "cloud" of muzzle blast that can be hard to see through when one pulls the trigger more than once. I've never been a fan of compensators because of the muzzle blast and the fact that (in my opinion) recoil is negligible in .223/5.56. The blast really does bother me, even with good ear-pro. But it DOES reduce recoil, if you feel you need it. I've never shot any other AR's with compensators, so I don't know if the FSC556 is better than others. |

Read through the following article. The DNTC comp in the article is the base design for the FSC556, so for all intents and purposes it's exactly the same recoil wise.
http://www.multigun.com/articles/pkcompensation.pdf A comp, at least for me, is most noticable not for it's recoil reduction, but its ability to keep your sights on target. Follow up shots are much faster when you don't have to completely reaquire your sight picture after each shot because your sights are pretty durn close to where they were to begin with. When combined with the control offered by a strong shooting stance, muzzle rise is almost non existant. |
