So, I changed out my grip today and now the selector switch is not as "positive" feeling as it was. It was very prominent before the grip change. I switched out the detent and the spring and it was still not as positive as it was so I put the original grip back on and again it didn't feel right.
I am using the ambi. selector from Stag and never had any issues. It seems to work just fine but something feels different. Other than swapping out the selector, does anyone know the culprit and should this be of concern? I am thinking no but wanted to ask the hive mind. The original grip in question was a Tango Down battle grip and the new grip is the Ergo Suregrip. |

Quoted:
The detent spring hole in the Ergo is probably a little deeper than the one in the TD. Find a piece of wire that's the right diameter, cut off a small (very small) length and insert it into the bottom of the hole. This. I had a TD grip that I had switched out for a MIAD and noticed that my selector seemed less positive afterward. |

I actually did the opposite thing and switched out the Ergo suregrip for a TD Battlegrip (wanted to try something without the finger grooves). I noticed that the selector switch was really stiff to operate when compared with the Ergo grip. I emailed Brownells tech department and they said the same thing, that the TD detent hole was likely shallower than the Ergo. I'm finding more and more I like the Ergo better, so who knows, I may end up going back. P.S. Long time reader, first time poster. This is a great site with a wealth of information. Love it! |

I agree that the spring pocket depth might be it
I use LMT ambi selectors and when I swap a standard grip for a MIAD I get interference. I had to file the back side of my slector to clear a MIAD. Selector went back to snapping into position. Make sure your selector isn't hitting your new grip. |
