I am wanting a compact upper for general SHTF use but one that is also able to be used for precision shooting out to 3-400 yards. MOA or less sized targets out to these ranges.

I am wondering about a Noveske 16" RECCE rifle. I want light and compact but accurate. Who doesnt?

I am open to buying an upper for my Colt 6720 lower or possible a whole carbine. What do you guys think I should consider?

ETA- FWIW, I will run it suppressed.

I'd also consider a LaRue Stealth, if you can swing it

You have described my LMT CQB in either 5.56 piston or 6.8 DI with the 16" CL bbl.  Both are sub MOA.   A 12.5" bbl with a can would be the ticket.

I bought an Optimized Sniper System in 5.56 (10.3 inches) from ballistic advantage. Shoots sub moa at 100 yards. Here it is with the AIMpoint, I have a accupoint for it also. Soon to be added are a Harris Bipod/Larue mount and a Gemtech Quick Sand Suppressor.
