It's normal but you can correct the angle with a piece of UHMW tape (sticky on one side super slick on the other) stuck to the right side of the upper between the upper receiver and the sight itself. UHMW tape can be bought in varying mill thickness via the Internet. Use a feeler gauge set and stick it between the sight and the upper on the right side to help you determine what thickness of UHMW tape you need.
See this web site: http://www.cshyde.com/Tapes/UHMWtape.htm ( and no I don't know how to make it a "Hot link." If I did I would have. If anyone wants to take the time to instruct me how to do so it would be greatly appreciated). |

You don't have a clue what you are talking about, this is completely 100% normal. It is spring loaded so will always stay in this position to ensure consistent sighting. Leave it alone. |

All carry handles regardless of the manufacturer have this "cant" to them. I have even seen an official letter from Armalite addressing this very issue, can't find it right now. |

I have even seen an official letter from Armalite addressing this very issue, can't find it right now. Not all. I've seen a RRA A2 whose rear sight fit snugly against the handle, and had no cant at all. I was out of line with the Colt comment, I apologize. I do think that canting to a certain degree will cause problems, as the aperture will be pointing too far in another direction. |
| There is a way to fix this normal condition. Remove the sight from the handle or upper receiver and drill a small horizontally-oriented hole in the right side of the sight opposite the hole for the preload spring. Insert a small universal head rivet (aluminum or plastic) in the hole and file the height of the rivet until it repositions the sight to align with handle while being pushed by the spring. Reassemble the whole thing and you are GTG. |
