Who's running the DSA middy upper?  What's your opinion on them?  Pics, opinions welcomed.

I have an extra BCG from my RRA laying around and i'm thinking that upper would make for a great plinker.

You might want to go to the DS Arms industry forum and read what people have said about the middy. I have only 1 minor complant and one major one. The minor one is the handguards... they suck! The major complaunt is the FSB is not F-stamped and you will need to get the .040 taller front sight pin. The fit and finsh on the upper and the barrel are great. I used a DD BCG( also ran a CMMG stainless 22 conversion) and it works great. For now I have to wait until Magpul starts shipping the mid-length Moe handguards or go with a set of Cavalry Arms hand guards.

Are they worth $300?  Yes. Would it be a great upper? Yes, if they (DSA) would set the front sights up correctly and get some better quality handguards on them.

I hard anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months for delivery?

Honestly, for $100 more, I can get a Del-Ton with bcg and charging handle...

I've run mine twice, just 150 rounds. I'm very happy w/my build. Nice even finish, seems accurate enough for me. I just got some shorter 20 rd. mags so I can use my Lead Sled and see what it'll really do group wise. Good balanced outfit.

The handguard is wiggly/cheap and will likely get replaced down the road.

I had no problem w/the front sight being right on target @ 50 yds. using a Magpul rear. Running a Bravo Co bolt and carrier FWIW.

Mine was ordered 12/23........and I had it in a week.........including 2 Hollidays in there.

Or $150 more and have the DSA w/fluted barrel and a Bravo Co. BCG......no comparrision.

I have had one of the nitride middys for awhile now.  I think I ordered one of the first ones.  It shoots great.  It's definitely more accurate than I am.  In fact I shot tighter groups with it from the bench than I thought I was capable of.
The handguards that came with mine do suck.  I've heard that DSA is switching to better ones.
The FSB height was also an issue.  I can't believe they didn't catch that one.  It really does make a big difference.

Both issues were resolved on mine when I decided to put a rifle length FF tube on there, but if you wanted to leave it in stock condition then I would check with DSA to make sure they have resolved those two problems.

Also, I got a shipping notice on mine within a couple days of ordering it.

Everything is great except for those handguards...those really do suck.  The only other aspect that needs adjustment is that front sight.  But stick a nice BCM or Spike's BCG in there and you've got a good solid rifle.

x2 on front sight and Magpul MBUS - the front pin had to come out a few clicks but it shot great at 50 yards.
Handguards are kinda wiggly, but to tell you the truth it is a non-issue for me.
DSA middy, BCG, and CH on a DSA lower = full of win on a budget (a few bucks over $630)

To the guys mentioning the F FSB thing, how do you know it's the incorrect height?
Did you measure or mic it?
The lack of the F mark doesn't automatically mean it's the wrong height.  Non F marked is often the same height as F marked.

Yeah, the hand guards do suck, but they're the cheapest/most likely to be replaced part, so for me it's a non-issue. Nice, lightweight accurate shooter, for an awesome price. Fit my Doublestar lower perfectly.

I was going to order this setup, but after 4 days of waiting for an email response (wanted delivery time frame and a couple of minor questions) , then being put on hold for 20 minutes, I decided they weren't interested in my business, so I went another route.

DSA is a little slow on the trigger when it comes to returning e-mails, but I've had good success in contacting them over the phone.  You can hear the phones ringing off the hook in the background, but Jessica and the crew were ALWAYS polite and answered my questions.  I've been told it's best to call first thing in the morning, which is when I always made my calls in to them.

My middy has a bit over 500 rds on it now and I love it.  I will change to a .40 post and am trying to figure out what I want to do with the hgs.  Right now the hgs area set of RR that are pretty solid.  Good deal for the money.
