Lower arrives in 3 weeks and now the search begins for uppers. Im leaning towards a BCM ss410 middy just because the 1/8 twist but i cant find anyone that actually owns both or just a BCM on a spikes for that matter. (Highly depicted tales of horror will also be taken into account) Thanks.

| They're both good to go. I have one complete Spike's rifle and one BCM upper that is currently on a spare Spike's build. Function/fit is just fine, a little play and the BCM has more of a purple tint. If cosmetics are your primary concern I would look at a complete rifle from Spike's as opposed to the mixing but as for function nothing wrong with mixing the two. The BCM middy is quickly becoming my favorite gun. |

| I just ordered a Spikes lower as well and a BCM BHF 16 middy with the DD Lite 12. Should have everything together by next friday (fingers crossed). After surfing ARFCOM for a few months I determined that was the best way to go for my price range. I hope it all works out as planned. I also tossed the SS410 idea around. Already have a stainless barrel on my DPMS 20". Wanted to change it up a bit. By the way, welcome to BRD. I got a bad case of it once I joined this site. |

The top two in the first pic are both Spikes/BCM combo's and the bottom is all Spikes.    |

my spikes lower/BCM upper fit together perfectly...however, the BCM upper is a deeper, glossier finish than the spikes lower (logo-less st-15) and doesn't match perfectly...not a big deal for most
spikes lowers have different finishes for their different models of lowers which i didn't know until i had purchased one...the logo-less one i bought has a dull, rough, charcoal finish much like a RRA lower. the ones on sale with the spikes logo have a glossier finish that match BCM uppers better...but i wanted one without the logo |

Here's a couple of older pics of my Spike's/BCM combo. The rifle now sports a SOPMOD, ACOG, and Grip Pod. I have also put XTM rail panels on the Omega instead of the ladders.
ETA: My lower is the "SAR" series (as mentioned above) and you can see it matches quite well. There's a little bit of play between the upper and lower, but it's very minor and doesn't affect anything. Also, added updated pic.

I just built a spikes/bcm and there is a slight difference in color. The bcm upper is just a touch darker/deeper than the spikes lower. They fit together tight. I went with a 14.5 ADCO barrel and a DD 10" rail, vortex FH, and it looks pretty nice. Have not had the time to shoot it yet. I will post pics if my dumb-__ could figure out how. |
